Day 30... YES!! YEAH!! WOO!!!

Its the last day! I am so happy I actually made it. There were a few days there where I almost just threw in the towel and said forget it. This one has a few of our past subjects in the background. You will notice owl, soapstone, and and a few other unnamed characters. Congrats to everyone else that stuck with it, be it officially or un. Thank you everyone who posted comments (especially Buf, Eury, Andromeda, and Ratbar who posted every (or almost every)day) It really kept me going when I didn't want to. And I'm sorry I did not post as much as I would have liked for everyone else. I was looking everyday and I am humbled by the amount of talent and skill of my fellow worthians.

Yeah!!!

day 27... Soap Owl

My husband very nicely carved this owl out of a bar of soap and used some colored dish soap to bring out the details. I think he did an awesome job having never carved anything before.
Thanks Honey!!

Day 24... Lavender soap

I would have liked to put some lavender sprigs in with this soap but my husband brought this home just to day and the only herb I have growing is lemon thyme. I must say things were smelling very very good during this shoot!

Day 23... Soap and Light

This was inspired by the artists that draw with sand over a light. I took a piece of glass and put it over a little desk lamp and spread out some laundry soap on some wax paper and just ran my fingers through the soap to make designs.

Day 22... spoon full of soap

This is a bowl of soap left over from some other pictures. I like how the texture(?) of it is like honey.

Day 21... Dish washer soap

This is one of those little tablets that goes into the dishwasher. Its amazing how something so small can clean a whole load of dishes.

Day 20... Soap

Is anyone else getting tired of looking at soap? I noticed these bubbles hanging on under the bar soap in the shower and I thought it looked like a cool soap cave.

day 19... The red one

I am actually quite pleased with this one. I really like the square bubble at the top. I punched up the color a bit, but the dish soap is pretty red on its own.

Day 17... Soapicide

Sticking with the black and white theme tonight, a more sinister side of soap.

Day 16... Washing Up

I thought it would be kinda fun to do a washing up portrait tonight. Unfortunately that pan is still waiting to be finished.

Day 15... soap and fire

So, yesterday's soap was an experiment that I am going to revisit because I got some really cool results that didn't quite get to the "coolness" point that I was striving toward. I took some orange dish soap and squirted it into a bowl going round and round while my strobe light was flashing. That stream you see is just one part of a bigger picture that wasn't all that clear. It has all those bubbles because the bottle was almost empty. I boosted the orange a bit and dodged and burned to bring out the detail.
Today's soap is a candle floating in the bowl of soap from yesterday. For some interest I poured a little blue soap around the flame.

Day 14... Halloween Colors

I thought this actually looked kinda gross.
And bad. I normally don't post it if I don't like it but its late. Dang it!

Day 13... bubbles in the sky

It was getting pretty dark out when I decided to go out and try some bubbles against the sky. I had to use the flash and I got these cool star burst reflections in the bubbles.

Day Eleven... Tired

I am Exhausted tonight. This was just a grab and shoot and post. Tomorrow will be better thought out.

Day Nine... Vintage Soap

I decided to break out my old FD lenses tonight and I must say I love the softness of this shot. This was taken with an FD 50mm with a 2x tele converter. I put some suds on our scrubby and lit from the side with a flashlight.

Day Seven... Soap Stone

I am really happy with this one. Thank you Honey for your awesome suggestion. I actually got a few shots of the soapy rock that I just love and I will include a bonus photo here on my blog. I am having too much fun!!

Day Six... Soap on Fire

I bought some amber colored glycerin soap today and spent about an hour in my dark closet trying to get a good illuminated photo of the bar. I did get some decent ones when I thought maybe a soap bubble would be more interesting. Those darn things are hard to get a clear picture of.

Day Five... Oops

I made a huge mess trying to get the right shot. This is as close as I could get to the picture in my mind.

Day Four

A macro of some soap shavings. I think I am definitely going to do more of these. It was really fun and I have some ideas for different things I can do.

Day Three... Soap Wonderland

I have several bottles of different colored dish soap (thank you honey!) and after many failed attempts at creating something interesting I decided to take my daughter's advice and "do splatters". I was also getting some mini bubbles which I thought looked really cute.

Day Two

I got a late start this evening so I went with a safe and cliche shot. I have a ton of ideas for other things I want to do but time is just slipping away...

Day one

Hooray! Soap! Once I got this idea in my head I couldn't let it go. I thought it would be appropriate for the first picture.
